How VCE Practice works

Getting access

1Sign in with the Google account you'll always use, then tell us whether you're the student or a parent or guardian.
2Students start straight away — no waiting. You get the free sample: the first 3 questions in each subject. Parent accounts are reviewed by hand before we approve them.
3A parent subscription unlocks the full question bank and the AI tutor. If a parent added you by email, you're linked to them automatically the first time you sign in.

Practise — pick any question from the bank. Short-answer answers are checked by a maths engine, so an equivalent form (factorised vs expanded) still counts as correct.
The tutor guides, it doesn't tell — it asks the next question instead of handing over the answer, and it has a computer-algebra system for checking its maths. The tutor is part of a subscription, and there's a daily message limit to keep you practising, not chatting.
Progress tracks your mastery of each individual skill — not one overall percentage — so you can see exactly where marks are leaking.
Plan turns your mastery into a weekly focus list: what to drill, what to review, what to explore next.

Parents hold the family account: you can link your children and follow each one's progress. Parent accounts don't practise — they watch and support.

1Sign in with Google and wait for approval — parent accounts are approved by our team.
2Open “Students” in the menu and add your child using the Google email they sign in with.
3That's it — the first time your child signs in with that email, they're linked to you and approved automatically. No codes, no forms.
4Click a linked student any time to see their mastery per skill and their weekly plan.

Linking — the fine print

Matching is by the exact Google email. If your child signs in with a different address, nothing links — re-invite with the address they actually use, or have them sign in with the invited one.
Until your child signs in, the invite shows as “invited — not signed in yet”.
Both parents can add the same student; each gets their own view.

Google won't let me sign in (“access blocked” or error 403).

You're probably inside an in-app browser (WeChat, Instagram, Messenger). Open practice.yochen.com.au in Safari or Chrome and it will work.

The tutor stopped replying.

There's a daily message limit per student. It resets each day — and it's a nudge to go practise what you discussed.

I think a question or answer is wrong.

Every numeric and algebraic answer in our short-answer questions is machine-verified before publishing. If something still looks off, email us.

What do you do with my child's data?

Only what the product needs: progress and practice data, under parental consent. No ads, no selling data. Details in the Privacy Policy below.
